After many years in HIM at a local hospital, 10 years ago, I started my career with Omega Healthcare coding same day surgery accounts for a children’s hospital. Most of my time with Omega so far though has been around inpatient coding. I was previously assigned to a handful of inpatient clients before landing on my current project in 2017 where I have been able to code just about any kind of case an inpatient coder can imagine: newborns, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, trauma and transplants, and everything in between. I now supervise our inpatient coding team of about 40 people – a role that I absolutely love. With great support from the beginning and at every level, I have grown so much as an HIM professional since joining Omega and am so happy to be here.

I’ve been with Omega for over 10 years and my background is profee coding, auditing, supervising and provider education.
I was hired by this company in 2014 as a Profee Coder, then promoted to a Lead Coder in 2015. I became a Coding Supervisor in 2019, Field Manager in 2021, and have been in my current role as Regional Coding Manager since 2022. I have worked on several different client projects and have always felt supported by my leadership team.

My family and I moved to Colorado in 2003 and I brought with me 20 years of medical transcription experience. In Colorado I worked reviewing outsourced transcription for a cancer clinic for 5 years before starting at Beacon Medical Services in 2012 (which later became Reventics), beginning as a Document Management Specialist, then RCM Client Customer and Billing Relations, and now as a Billing Supervisor. What attracted me to Beacon, and which carries through to Reventics and now to Omega, is the integrity of the work being done and the strict compliance with billing procedures and regulations, along with extensive training provided regarding this. This is highly important to me and I am glad to be part of a company with high standards not just for the quantity or quality of work produced, but also the integrity with which it is produced.

I began my career in Health Information Management in 2006 as a records clerk and was privileged enough to try on many hats in that office before settling on outpatient coding in 2008. I always knew I wanted to follow in my parents’ footsteps and work in the medical profession, and when I discovered coding, I fell in love. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work as a coder and/or auditor in a variety of outpatient coding specialties for some of the best known vendors in the industry. I proudly joined Omega (then HimagineSolutions) in 2021 as a coder and was promoted internally to supervisor in 2022. I am so fortunate enough to work on the 2023 Omega Global Award-winning Optum team with some of the greatest co-workers and coders I have ever had the experience of knowing.
