Advanced Composites

Composites are classified according to their matrix phase. Polymer Matrix Composites (PMCs), Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) and Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs).

 

Polymer Matrix Composites (PMCs) are classified as Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP Composites, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Composites, Aramid-Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites.

 

Its light weight, high resistance to abrasion & corrosion, and high stiffness & strength properties are the reasons Advanced Composites are used.

 

The team works on Advanced composite materials in the Aircraft, Aerospace and Defence sectors and Various Space Programmes such as Aircraft Fuselage, Wings, Turbine Blades, Jet Engine components, Heat Shields & Thermal protection systems and Missile Fins, Automobile Body Panels, Chassis & Pistons, High performance Brake Discs & Pads it’s been used in even more areas such as Ballistic protective applications such as Bullet Proof Vests and Boat Hulls, Space Transportation Programmes.
